This section contains outlined instructions for how to create and review requirements document baselines. Baselining your requirements document creates a snapshot of your requirements document at the moment in time when the baseline is created. All document entities, their relationships and attributes will be captured.
Creating a New Document Baseline
Below are the necessary steps to creating a new requirements document baseline:
Within 'Requirements View', ensure the document you would like the baseline is displayed and click on the 'Baseline' button as shown below:
The ‘Create New Baseline’ panel will appear, where you must enter a name for the new baseline. Type in a ‘Baseline Name’ and click the ‘Create’ button.
Once the new baseline has been created, the only visual cue that this happened will be a color change from yellow to blue of the baseline indicator (the left-most block of color on every row in 'Requirements View').
Reviewing an Existing Document Baseline
Below are the necessary steps to review an existing requirements document baseline:
Within 'Requirements View', click on the 'Switch Documents' drop-down showing the name of the document artifact currently being displayed.
This opens a drop-down menu allowing the user to switch which requirements document is displayed in 'Requirements View' by selecting an existing requirements document artifact, a baselined version to display or manage your project's requirements documents. Select a baseline to view from the menu as indicated by the baseline icon (same icon used on the 'Baseline' button).
Note: All Statement and Requirement entities, their relationships and attributes will be displayed as if you have reverted back to a previous version of the requirements document that you selected. All baselines are displayed read only. To go back to editing your document, switch back to the working copy using the same drop-down menu.
