Customizing Asset Diagrams

Last modified on February 2nd, 2017.

This section contains an outline of 'Asset Diagram' only features which allow you to further customize your 'Asset Diagram' to meet your needs.

Replacing a Block with a Picture

By default, a rounded block is used to represent an 'Asset'. To replace the default block shape with a picture, follow the steps below:

  1. Within an 'Asset Diagram', select an 'Asset'.
  2. Follow the steps for Adding an Image via the 'Metadata' tab of the left sidebar.
  3. The picture will be converted and the block will automatically change to your uploaded picture.

Setting Conduit Direction

By default, a 'Conduit' has no implied direction. To set a directionality, select the line of the 'Conduit' in the diagram, click the 'Line Options' dropdown and select either the 'Directed' menu item for one way connections or the 'Bidirectional' menu item for two-way connections.

Styling a Conduit

By default, a 'Conduit' is represented in the diagram by a solid connecting line. The styling of the connecting line can be changed to either a dashed line, a lightning bolt, or binary. To set the style, select the line of the 'Conduit' in the diagram, click the 'Line Options' dropdown and select either the 'Dashed Line' menu item, the 'Lightning Line' menu item, or the 'Binary Line' menu item. Styling a 'Conduit' in this way is particularly useful for DoDAF OV-1 products to enhance the visual representation of the physical components of a system model.
