The ‘Auto Number’ function is used to add a new prefix to the number of the diagram's root entity and all of its children.
  1. In the ‘Diagrams’ tab, click the wrench icon in the upper right corner.
  2. Click ‘Auto Number’
  3. A new window will appear, select the prefix of your choice by clicking in the text box below ‘Prefix’ and typing your desired prefix.
  4. Select your desired options by clicking the checkbox next to your preference. The option ‘Use the action order to determine the number sequence’ renumbers your entities to be in chronological order in which they started. The option ‘Only autonumber immediate children (single level)’ only renumbers the root entity and entities that decompose the root, not any further levels of decomposition. If this option was selected, the root's grandchildren and their children would keep the same number as before the autonumber function was carried out.
